Festive things to do on Christmas Eve

Let there be light...

Grab a hot chocolate and take a drive or a walk round where you live and look at the light displays.  Make your own hot chocolate or nip into your local Costa or Starbuck who are doing some tasty festive specials.

PJ & Drunken...

Have a PJ & Movie Marathon Day - Put on your best Christmas pyjamas, grab the snacks and chill out in front of TV for a Christmas Movie Marathon.  If you need any inspiration, see my list here.

Get blankets, cushions and make yourself comfy. Block out the outside world with just the twinkle of the tree lights for company.  When it's time to eat have a picnic next to the tree, think pigs in blankets, sausage rolls....Have breakfast for dinner, drink mulled wine and sleep in the lounge.

Calories don't count at Christmas...

Enjoy a Christmas dinner or Festive Afternoon Tea out.  It may be costly on Christmas day, but lots of venues will offer a Christmas dinner in the run up to the big day.  So let somebody else do the work for one night. Santa Clause is coming to town...

Get your photo with SantaAny Santa.  It doesn't matter how old you are!

Its nice to be nice...

Do a Random Act of kindnessIt could be something as simple as visiting an elderly neighbour, buying someone a cup of tea, but make the effort to do something for someone else.  It is the season of goodwill after all.

Get set, bake...

Do some Christmas baking

Traditional Ginger Bread, cinnamon biscuits – anything which uses those wintery spices will make the house smell amazing.  If you fancy the idea but want less stress, there are some great packet mixes.  Try something different such as S’Mores which are often associated with this time of year in America.

Bbbb build...Build a Ginger Bread house.

I did this for the first time this year.  Not as easy as I imaginedWatch but great fun!

It's beginning to smell a bit like Christmas...

Get the whole house smelling like Christmas.  I don't mean the dinner, but the smells of mulled wine. cinamon, baking.  There are lots of ways you can do this.  Candles are great this time of year.  Not only can you get some beautiful frangrances, but they also make any room seem cosy. Another option is reed diffusers, but with both, be careful using them around children and pets.

Zoflorra have bought out a range of Chrstmas scents.  Add to water and do your cleaning with it, spray a little onto radiators so when they heat up it spreads the fragrance.  There are a few bathroom cleaning products which claim to smell like Christmas, even bleach, but I've not come across a great one yet.  I think your better of sticking with the pine options to get that Christmas tree smell. Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la......

The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear - Buddy the Elf If Buddy said it then in my book it's true.  Go to a carol concert, there's still plenty about, or, find a pub that's holding a festive singalong. If all else fails, get that music on loud at home and singalong to your favourite christmas songs.

Cheers!.....

Its Christmas Eve and what you haven't done now will just have to wait. The shops are closed for barely a day.  You will survive. So get yourself to the nearest pub and raise a glass to toast Christmas 2018

Love T xx
