There are some film locations that feel like home, and Bridget Jones’s flat is one of them.
If, like me, you've sat at home in your pyjamas, eating ice cream from the tub while contemplating life’s greatest mysteries - like when exactly did my love life start to resemble a romantic comedy gone wrong, you'll know exactly what I mean.
Why We Love It
We love tidy, but theres something about it’s cosy chaos that says, “I embrace my inner messiness!” Bonus points if you have a glass of wine in hand!
Bridget Jones' flat is not just a set; it’s a reminder that life is a hilarious mess, and sometimes, that’s exactly where you find your comfort. So grab a pint of ice cream and read on.
Bridget's flat is not a grand mansion or a famous landmark. Infact, you could walk by and never even know its there. There's no plaque! (I vote there should be) It's a cosy-looking place above a pub, tucked beside Borough Market, and it somehow captures that whole “single girl in London” era perfectly.
So when I headed to London for my birthday, and my friend suggested visiting Bridget’s famous flat exterior, to say I was excited was an understatement. And honestly? Seeing it in real life gave me that oddly emotional feeling you get when a fictional world overlaps with your real one.
Where is Bridget Jones’s flat in London?

Bridget’s flat exterior is located at 8 Bedale Street, right by Borough Market, above The Globe Tavern.
This spot appears throughout the first films, including the iconic moments outside the building (and it’s also near the location associated with the infamous Darcy vs Cleaver scuffle).
If you’re coming by tube, London Bridge is the easiest stop, and from there it’s an easy walk into the Borough Market area right nearby.
A quick filming fact: was the inside filmed there too?
The exterior is the recognisable Borough Market location, but the interior flat scenes were filmed at a studio (Elstree), not inside the actual building. So, while you can enjoy a lovely stroll, grab some selfies and pretend you're Bridget Jones herself, just remember: the inside of her flat is as elusive as her perfect love life!
So yes, you can absolutely stand outside and soak up the Bridget vibe… but the “inside of the flat” as we know it from the films isn’t, sadly, somewhere you can visit as a set.
What’s there now?
The building has evolved (as London always does). Travel and lifestyle write-ups note that the spot associated with Bridget’s flat is now linked with Khao Bird, a Thai restaurant, while The Globe Tavern remains the recognisable pub exterior below.
Even if you don’t go in, it’s worth it just to stand there for a moment and let the film memories hit you, especially if you’re a rom-com person.

What is Bridget Jones’s flat worth now?
This is the part that makes you do a little Bridget-style laugh-cry.
Property and lifestyle sites have played “fantasy valuation” with Bridget’s home and the surrounding area. One estimate puts a three-bedroom flat at 8 Bedale Street close to £1 million.
Meanwhile, Rightmove’s analysis of the Borough area suggests prices have risen dramatically since the first film era, with the average asking price for a one-bed flat in Borough now above £549,000, compared to around £186,000 in 2001.
So whether you look at it as “Bridget’s specific flat” or “the Borough Market postcode effect,” the message is the same: rom-com London now comes with a very real price tag.
Borough Market: another Bridget Jones connection

Borough Market isn’t just a pretty backdrop - it’s part of what gives Bridget’s world its texture: busy, real, and a bit chaotic (in the best way). Some location guides highlight the Borough Market area as central to the Bridget Jones “London footprint,” with the flat/pub exterior being the most recognisable anchor point.
For my birthday trip, Borough Market also made the day feel like a proper London moment, foodie, bustling, and cinematic without even trying.

My birthday in London: why this hit differently
I think the reason this visit landed emotionally is because Bridget’s story has always been about more than romance. It’s about identity. Reinvention. Humour in the mess. Becoming yourself again (even if you do it in questionable knickers).
And for me, London this year wasn’t just a fun birthday trip, it was symbolic. New year energy. New projects. New chapter. And standing outside that little “Bridget building” felt like a strange little full-circle moment.

If you want to visit: quick tip
Go early if you film without passers by, but you should easily get photos without crowds
Pair it with a Borough Market wander (it’s right there).
Don’t expect an “interior set”, it’s an exterior location spot.
Make a day of Bridget Jones locations out of it. You can even now visit Bridgets statue
There’s something nice about visiting filming locations like this. It’s playful, nostalgic, and it makes a city feel personal. And whether you’re a die-hard Bridget fan or you just love a good London wander, this little corner of Borough Market is a fun one to tick of the bucket list.
If you do visit, tell me: which Bridget moment lives in your head rent-free?
or, which location from a rom-com you would visit? Next stop Notting Hill?
Love Tx
