Fashion: Nottingham in Fashion Bloggers Event and Sparkling High Tea

📷

When it comes to celebrating fashion on the Great British high street, Nottingham is often ranked as one of the UK's top shopping destinations.

Not only is Nottingham the home of fashion giant Paul Smith, but you will also find an abundance of high street chains and designer names alongside vintage boutiques and unique independent stores in the thriving shopping scene. So where better to have a whole week designated to fashion.

The stores have been full of spring/summer inspiration if only the British weather would do the same, still, you can always cheer yourself up with a bit of retail therapy. With bold and bright clashing colours, polka dots or prints and stripes, you're bound t find a store to suit your style and budget.

This year the catwalk is hitting the streets of Nottingham. My last post gave details of the events taking place around the city and I was excited to be invited to an exclusive event on Saturday afternoon (28 April) held by Its in Nottingham and Gemini PR.

The flash-mob-style fashion show was due to take place in Trinity Square, but the weather had other ideas. Not wanting us, the models or the clothes getting drenched, our event was relocated to the beautiful setting of Exchange Walk, here six models/dancers showed us some of this season's vibrant colours to be seen in, all available in the city from the likes of Debenhams, French Connection, Primark and Preen.

It was then a short walk over to Curious Manor for high tea. Some of Nottingham's top bloggers were treated to a selection of sandwiches plus scones and huge slices of cake.

e sipped on a good old cuppa and a cheeky prosecco before receiving goody bags crammed full of beauty treats from House of Fraser, Beauty Temple, Treat Kitchen, Hotel Chocolate, Boots, The Body Shop, M & S,Urban Decay, Crabtree & Evelyn and Aveda.  I'm going to love trying them all and will share some of my favourites with you in another post.

Whilst I enjoyed the fashion show I prefer the sit-down event of last year in the Council House during which we saw a selection of different outfits and styles without the threat of bad weather spoiling a dedicated fashion event as opposed to the more public flash shows this year. I'll be interested to see how the event evolves next year.

There's still time to catch some events in the city and take advantage of the offers Visit www.itsinnottingham.com/infashion for further information and to download the fashion and beauty magazine.
