Optimistic October

I can't believe we're already over half way through the month!

How did that happen?  Like many, I like to make the most of the Autumn nights with cosy nights in and a flickering candle.

It's not been an easy month so far for personal reasons which I'll share with you later and I've spent a lot of time this October writing posts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  As much as I hope it's helped people out there, I've found it very difficult reliving it all.  The fear of it coming back is with me every day and writing about it has bought back so many memories to the point I'd convinced myself it was back, so I'm actually looking forward to moving on from that next month.  I'm grateful I can as there are many people out there living with it.

So, I thought it was time for a little catch up. On a more positive note, I've decided to be more optimistic about the future, and tell you instead what I'm looking forward to the rest of this month. I love the crisp autumn days, kicking through leaves and having an excuse to drink anything pumpkin spiced or hot chocolate, but I've also got quite a few things coming up.

This week I've been invited along to try the new menu at Rev de Cuba in Nottingham. They serve amazing Cuban style food and tapas and great cocktails and are launching a new menu for each of them - new dishes include Beef Fillet Skewer, Spicy Black Bean Bowl, Swordfish, Ensalade de Seville and Chicken Enchilada

I'm also going wine tasting at Veeno too, I'm not sure what date yet but I've had wine and food there before and it's always well worth a visit.

I'm also having a bit of girlie time this week too as I'm having my make up done at Cabella Boutique.  I can't wait to see what they do.  Good make up makes such a difference and there's nothing like feeling confident.

Finally this week my new bedroom furniture should arrive.  Anyone that's been watching my vlogs will know that I've been redecorating my bedroom  - and it's been taking forever.   I've been sleeping in a spare room with half my stuff in a suitcase and bags and boxes everywhere.  I can't wait to get some order back in my life and finally be tidy!

It's the Bramey Apple Festival this Saturday in Southwell.  Being a foodie, I'm hoping to go along.  I think some old friends from the food festivals are going so it will be nice to catch up.  Whilst I'm talking food, I've got a couple of nights out I'm looking forward to also.  Chef Sophie Hyam is doing a pop up at Toast in Nottingham which looks like it's going to be amazing and I'm going back to La Rock in Nottingham with friends, which also promises to be a great night. Plus I've been invited along to a Vietnamese cookery class, so I'm looking forward to learning some new dishes.

It's also the Roxy Ballrooms 1st birthday this month - I can't believe it's a year since I went to the opening!  I'll be popping along to that too.

Finally, I'm really looking forward to the Stepback 80's concert at the Arena - Tony Hadley, ABC, Paul Young, T'Pau, and Katrina from Katrina & the Waves, Go West, Chesney Hawkes and Bonnie Tyler - what a line up! I'm also reviewing Caro Emerald for her third visit to Nottingham and also Glenn Tilbrook.

it's Halloween of course.  I've already got my pumpkin and I need to pop to Aldi as they're doing their Baileys equivalent but a pumpkin spiced version.  No doubt we'll be cooking up some Halloween food and maybe sticking on a few scary movies.

Phew, did I say cosy nights in?  Looks like I'm going to be busy.  Don't forget to head over to my YouTube Channel for my weekly vlog to see how I got on with it all.

Love T xx
