Organic Products You Didn't Know You Need

There are now more organic products available than ever before. More than food and drink, you can now stock your home from top to bottom with sustainable and healthier items. Here are a few.

Organic Personal Care

Taking care of yourself extends beyond exercise and diet and into personal care. Body sprays, hand wash and cosmetics are examples of personal care items you use every day. However, many of these are manufactured using harmful chemicals containing allergens, unsustainable ingredients and with no regard for animals. Fortunately, organic personal care is becoming more available with an expected growth rate of 9% by 2030. For example, you can find some of the best organic hand sanitiser products in supermarkets and online these days.

Soaps, Shampoos and Conditioners

Further to organic personal care, organic hygiene products are becoming very popular. The main reasons are similar to personal care. Organic shampoos, conditioners and soaps are typically made using sustainable ingredients in an ethical manner that doesn’t harm animals or the environment. However, they have the added bonus of being cost-effective in bar form. Organic shampoo and conditioner bars last two to three times more than liquid versions. This equates to around 80 washes per a typical 60g bar, at the same price or slightly more.

Organic Products Include Household Items

The organic method works well with consumables such as food, drinks and hygiene products. But there are many uses for sustainable and organic materials across your home. You can easily kit out your home with organic and sustainable products. Some examples include:

  • Exceptionally well-made organic furniture from Etsy and brands like IKEA.

  • Organic cleaning products such as bathroom and kitchen spray and washing up liquid.

  • Soft furnishings such as organic hypo-allergenic pillows, carpeting and drapery.

There is a real push for major brands to reuse and recycle materials for new products, and IKEA is leading the way. And like personal hygiene, you can purchase organic home hygiene products made from non-toxic chemicals. And organic cotton and other fabrics are also widely available.

Ethical and Organic Clothing

Many brands offer fabrics made from organic materials for your home. Curtains, bed linens and carpets are good examples. So, of course, organic clothing is also becoming widely available. While you may not find organic materials in most high street stores, you will find sustainable clothing from brands like Primark. However, there are high-end brands that specialise in organic and ethical clothing. Some of the best brands include Pact, Organic Basics and Boody. Organic materials, like cotton, contain no harsh chemicals and are made more sustainably.

Organic Feminine Care

As a woman, you might want to consider additional organic products for feminine care. These include items like tampons and sanitary pads. It isn’t widely known, but you can have allergic reactions to these products. Sometimes there are bacterial infections known as Toxic Shock Syndrome. But you can also experience an allergic reaction to some of the ingredients of female hygiene products. Organic sanitary products contain no such chemicals and are made from 100% organic cotton. You might also consider organic vaginal wash for a healthy pH balance.

There’s no end to the organic products available today. For a healthier and more sustainable option, you can use organic personal cosmetics, household items and feminine products.
