Make The Most Out Of Your Larger Garden

A home with a big garden can make a world of difference. If you're lucky enough to have one, like me, and you just don’t know what to do with it then take a read for some cool ideas.

Firstly, you want privacy in your garden so you could install something like a fence or use bushes to conceal it.

Extend Your Home

Even though I never went ahead with the extension I was going to have, I'd still love to someday. I'm lucky I have a conservatory which adds extra space and they are another option if you are considering extending. They can be great for using all year around. Conservatories will ensure that you have a space where you can enjoy the summer sun and seamlessly blend the exterior and interior of your property with wonderful bi-folding doors.

Add A Pool

Seems like a dream, right? You might think that a pool is going to be too expensive for your budget. However, you could be surprised because the average pool can be built for about ten thousand. This is cheaper than the typical kitchen renovation and will provide you with hours of fun. Don’t forget, if you install a pool there’s other features to include too. For instance, you’ll need to add fencing around the pool to keep animals and children safe.

Create A Play System For Kids

If you have children and you encourage them to spend as much time outside as possible then give them some things to play with. If they have amazing playthings outside then they're unlikely to be wanting to be stuck in the house. There are many items you can buy for endless hours of fun for the kids. One thing you have to be wary of when buying play things for the garden is the effect it will have on the grass over time. If you own your property then this isn’t too much of an issue. However, if you rent your home then the landlord may not be too impressed when he returns to ruined grass. You can invest in something like a trampoline or even a large play set with various swings and a slide.

Build An Outdoor Kitchen

Finally, you could think about creating an outdoor kitchen that everyone in your home could benefit from and take advantage of. This can be as extravagant and exciting as you like. For instance, you can keep things simple with a barbecue area. Or, you might want to consider adding an oven along with a stone pizza oven. This can be connected to an outdoor seating area that will be perfect for both guests and family members. When you’re building an outdoor kitchen area, you’ll need to decide whether it is going to be connected to your main building or separate. If it’s separate it’s going to be a little more difficult to build but far from impossible.

I hope this helps you understand some of the key steps that you can take to make the most out of a larger garden.

You might not have been sure what to do with the space when you bought the home, but you’ll soon discover it is a tremendous asset. Even if you just want to chill in a hammock like me.
